It’s his way of courting—to show up with bits from the past he thinks may impress, but what I find more compelling than his photographs of a young woman in various poses—shy, seductive, fierce, indifferent—are his hands, their prominent veins, ragged cuticles and callused fingertips, the way they linger just above her breasts, as if remembering.
