Time Does Nothing

It didn’t matter that he wasn’t there for the birth. I mean, yes of course, it would have been nice to have him by my side, but I knew what I was signing up for long before we got married. Being alone, that’s just the way it was as an army wife. Still, at least we’d managed to set up the iPads so he could hear the first cries. If only we’d known he would never hear them again.
